About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Secondary PMLD Teacher to join a specialist SEN school in Greenwich. The role involves teaching pupils aged 11‑18 with profound and multiple learning difficulties, delivering sensory‑based, personalised learning in a supportive environment.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver individualized lessons for pupils aged 11‑18 with profound and multiple learning difficulties.
- Implement sensory‑based activities and adapt teaching approaches to meet communication, physical and developmental needs.
- Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists and other SEN professionals.
- Utilise communication tools such as PECS and sensory resources to facilitate learning.
- Monitor pupil progress and contribute to the achievement of EHCP targets.
- Maintain a calm, safe and engaging classroom atmosphere.
- Support pupils in developing communication, engagement and life‑skills.
Required profile
- Proactive, patient and resilient with a genuine passion for inclusive education.
- Experience working in SEN or PMLD settings.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is highly desirable.
- Previous experience teaching 11‑18 year olds in a SEN environment.
