Secondary School Teaching Assistant (Full‑Time)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated graduate to join a welcoming secondary school in Brent as a full‑time Teaching Assistant starting September 2026. The role supports students across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping them achieve academic and personal growth in a supportive, inclusive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to improve progress, confidence and engagement.
• Assist teachers with lesson preparation, classroom activities and resource organisation.
• Deliver targeted interventions in literacy, numeracy and subject‑specific areas.
• Support pupils with additional learning needs, including SEND, and help manage behaviour.
• Contribute to pastoral care, social‑emotional development and assessment support.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams to meet individual student needs.
• Participate in wider school activities, enrichment programmes and extracurricular events.

Required profile

• Degree in any discipline.
• Previous experience working with teenagers or secondary‑aged students (essential).
• Experience in school, tutoring, mentoring, youth work or similar settings is desirable.
• Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for education.

Required skills

• Ability to support pupils with diverse learning needs.
• Basic knowledge of classroom management techniques.
• Effective teamwork and collaboration with teaching staff.
