Secondary School Teaching Assistant (Preston)

About the role

Spencer Clarke Group is seeking enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support secondary schools across Preston and surrounding areas from September 2026. You will work alongside teachers to help students in Key Stages 3 and 4 achieve their learning goals, providing both one‑to‑one and small‑group assistance.

Key responsibilities

• Support students with their daily learning and development across a range of subjects.
• Deliver targeted one‑to‑one or small‑group sessions, especially for pupils with SEND, SEMH or other additional needs.
• Assist teachers in preparing and delivering engaging lessons.
• Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
• Encourage student confidence, independence and active participation.

Required profile

• Experience working with children or young people in an educational or related setting.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Proactive, adaptable and able to work collaboratively with staff.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
