About the role

Hays Education is seeking enthusiastic secondary supply teachers to support schools in Deal, Kent and the surrounding area. This role offers the chance to work across a variety of secondary school settings, providing flexibility while ensuring continuity of learning for students when their regular teacher is absent.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, pre‑planned lessons across a range of subjects and year groups.
• Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes student participation.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with each school’s policies.
• Adapt teaching approaches to meet the diverse needs of learners.
• Support students’ academic progress and wellbeing.
• Provide feedback to department heads and school leaders after lessons.
• Contribute positively to the wider school community.

Required profile

• Proven experience teaching in secondary education.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Strong classroom management and organisational abilities.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Flexibility and reliability to adapt to different school environments.
