Secondary Teaching Assistant – Day-to-Day & Long-Term

About the role

Veritas Education is seeking enthusiastic Secondary Teaching Assistants for schools in the Clitheroe and Ribble Valley area. You will support pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4, working alongside experienced teachers to deliver engaging lessons and provide targeted assistance.

Key responsibilities

• Support teachers in delivering lessons across a variety of subjects.
• Work with small groups or one‑to‑one with students.
• Assist pupils with additional learning needs, including SEN.
• Help manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
• Prepare learning materials and support classroom organisation.
• Encourage student participation and engagement.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with young people (school‑based experience desirable).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, supportive and adaptable approach.
• Ability to work as part of a team and use initiative.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
