Security Analyst – Hybrid – Reading

About the role

We are partnering with a leading UK Managed Service Provider to find a Security Analyst based in Reading. The role is hybrid and focuses on security operations, incident response, threat detection and automation to protect customer environments.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full security incident lifecycle from investigation to resolution.
• Monitor, investigate and respond to security events across cloud, identity and endpoint environments.
• Design, implement and optimise SIEM detection rules to improve threat detection and reduce false positives.
• Develop and maintain security automation using SOAR platforms, Logic Apps, Python and APIs.
• Conduct proactive threat hunting and perform root‑cause analysis after incidents.
• Support endpoint security, identity protection and vulnerability management initiatives.

Required profile

• Experience working in a SOC environment.
• Strong knowledge of SIEM, EDR and SOAR platforms.
• Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Sentinel, Defender XDR, CrowdStrike, Darktrace or similar technologies.
• Experience securing Azure and AWS environments.
• Familiarity with ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
