Security Architect

About the role

As a Security Architect at Actica you will advise UK public‑sector and defence organisations on protecting their systems and data. You will analyse threats, design security solutions and embed security throughout project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Engage directly with clients to understand cyber‑security threats, risk appetite and constraints.
• Identify security risks and recommend appropriate counter‑measures.
• Collaborate with solution architects and risk advisors to define and document a security architecture that meets business needs.
• Select and allocate security controls to solution components and provide assurance that they address identified threats.
• Support the production of cyber‑security policies, processes and client procurements, including developing security requirements and evaluating options.

Required profile

• Proven experience in security architecture for digital projects, preferably within UK defence or public sector.
• At least one relevant security qualification (e.g., CISSP, relevant degree).
• Intellectually agile, proactive and able to apply a structured approach to unfamiliar subjects.

Required skills

• Threat modelling and risk management.
• Security architecture frameworks such as Zero Trust, SABSA, TOGAF, NIST.
• Public and private cloud security.
• Network security, identity and access management (ICAM), encryption and endpoint security.
• Application security for SaaS, COTS and bespoke software.
• SecDevOps, CI/CD pipelines and Operational Technology security.
