Security Engineer – Remote NATO Project

About the role

We are looking for a Security Engineer to join a NATO‑aligned programme. The role is fully remote but you must reside in a NATO member country. You will support the secure design, accreditation, operation and continuous improvement of communications and information systems throughout their lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Support security accreditation for systems and applications across design, build, operate, enhance and retire phases.
• Advise on cost‑effective security countermeasures and implement required security controls.
• Document CIS architecture, configuration and security posture for risk management.
• Plan, implement, maintain and upgrade CIS in line with best practice.
• Investigate security incidents, perform root‑cause analysis and support remediation.
• Define, implement and maintain security policies, standards and operating procedures.
• Lead or supervise technical teams and security workstreams as needed.
• Conduct security testing, vulnerability assessments and support audits.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
• 3‑5 years of experience designing or implementing security controls within formal frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST SP 800‑series, etc.).
• Proven ability to supervise technical teams or manage security projects.
• Professional proficiency in English (SLP 3333 or equivalent).
