Security Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Security Manager to lead a team of Security Officers in a busy retail environment in South West London. The role involves overseeing daily operations, ensuring compliance, and driving high standards of service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, manage and support a team of Security Officers across the site.
• Conduct staff inductions and coordinate ongoing training and development.
• Manage performance, attendance, conduct, and employee relations in line with company procedures.
• Carry out investigations where required and maintain accurate records.
• Build and maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders, including Police, Local Authorities, and external partners.
• Complete operational audits and ensure compliance with contractual service standards.
• Monitor performance against agreed service levels and identify areas for continuous improvement.
• Ensure Health & Safety procedures are followed, including risk assessments and promotion of safe working practices.
• Support payroll administration and maintain accurate personnel records.
• Ensure all compliance requirements are met, including right‑to‑work checks, vetting, and company policies.
• Maintain accurate records using internal systems and produce reports as required.
• Ensure compliance with statutory fire safety and health & safety regulations across the site.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a Security Management role within a retail setting.
• Valid SIA Licence.
• Strong leadership and people‑management abilities with a track record of motivating teams.
• Experience handling investigations, performance issues and operational compliance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with colleagues, clients and external stakeholders.
• Proactive, solutions‑focused approach to problem solving.
• Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a varied workload.
• Sound understanding of Health & Safety legislation and security industry best practice.

Required skills

• Valid SIA Licence.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using operational management systems.
