Security Operations Center Assistant Controller

About the role

The Security Operations Centre (SOC) Assistant Controller supports the SOC Manager in protecting JD Sports Fashion assets across the Kingsway Distribution Centre. You will be the first point of contact for alarm activations, CCTV monitoring and liaison with external emergency services, ensuring a safe and secure environment for staff and merchandise.

Key responsibilities

• Respond promptly to alarm activations, update stakeholders and record incidents.
• Follow and enforce all SOC procedures, escalating issues when required.
• Liaise with police and fire services during incidents.
• Assist with intruder alarm configuration and activation using technical knowledge.
• Verify key holder identities and maintain accurate logs.
• Monitor store CCTV feeds, report any irregularities to managers.
• Prepare and distribute nightly incident reports.
• Identify faults, raise tickets to Security Technicians and track incident numbers.
• Conduct weekly checks according to schedule and adhere to health and safety policies.

Required profile

• Professional attitude with a strong sense of responsibility.
• Ability to work rotating shifts (2 days, 2 nights, 4 days off).
• Excellent communication skills for internal and external liaison.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow documented procedures.
