Security Technician – Defence & Government Sites

About the role

Join the Security Services Group team protecting the UK’s most critical defence and government sites. As a Security Technician you will travel across your region to install, maintain and audit advanced electronic and physical security systems, ensuring they operate safely and reliably.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary point of contact for customers, delivering clear communication and service.
• Respond to maintenance and installation enquiries on‑site during core hours.
• Participate in a 24‑hour on‑call rota for emergency support.
• Carry out regular system checks and audits to verify compliance and performance.
• Prepare accurate cost estimates for materials and labour for minor works.
• Provide technical assistance, resolve design challenges and supervise trades/sub‑contractors.
• Complete all job‑related administration and reporting promptly.
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines on every site.

Required profile

• Motivated and passionate about security engineering.
• Background in electrical, electronic or security engineering (training will be provided).
• Strong problem‑solving ability and customer‑focused attitude.
• Willingness to travel regularly across the region and occasional UK‑wide trips.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a 24/7 operational team.
