SEMH Behaviour Mentor

About the role

Prospero Teaching is looking for dedicated Behaviour Mentors to support children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs across London. You will work either one‑to‑one or with small groups in schools, alternative provisions or specialist settings, helping pupils build confidence, improve behaviour and engage positively with their education.

Key responsibilities

• Provide tailored support to pupils displaying challenging behaviour or disengagement.
• Create a safe, structured environment and act as a positive role model.
• Assist students in setting and achieving personal and educational goals.
• Collaborate with school staff and external agencies to deliver consistent support.
• Maintain accurate records of interventions and progress.

Required profile

• Minimum six months experience working with children or young people in education, youth work, care or mentoring.
• Experience with SEMH, ASD, ADHD or other additional needs is desirable.
• Right to work in the UK and willingness to undergo DBS and safeguarding checks.
• Two professional references covering the last two years.
