SEMH Primary Teaching Assistant (Supply) – Leeds

About the role

Randstad Education is seeking enthusiastic SEMH Teaching Assistants to support vulnerable pupils in mainstream primary schools across Leeds. This supply position offers flexibility while allowing you to make a meaningful impact on children’s social, emotional and mental health needs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to primary‑aged children with SEMH challenges.
• Implement positive behaviour management and de‑escalation techniques.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to adapt learning activities.
• Maintain safeguarding standards and complete required documentation.
• Adapt quickly to different school environments and schedules.

Required profile

• Recent experience as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant in a UK primary school.
• Proven experience supporting children with SEMH needs (e.g., ADHD, autism, attachment difficulties).
• Strong emotional resilience, empathy and patience.
• Valid enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one through Randstad).
