SEMH Teacher – Specialist School (Full‑time)

About the role

We are seeking an inspiring SEMH Teacher to join a welcoming specialist school in Ely. The role is full‑time, long‑term with the prospect of becoming a permanent position, starting in September 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, personalised lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils with EHCPs.
• Create a calm, supportive and inclusive classroom environment where pupils feel safe and ready to learn.
• Collaborate closely with teaching assistants, the SENCO and external professionals to achieve the best outcomes for each child.
• Monitor pupil progress, adapt teaching strategies socially and emotionally, and promote confidence, independence and resilience.
• Encourage pupils to overcome learning barriers and celebrate their achievements.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Experience in a primary, SEND or specialist setting, or a strong desire to develop within SEMH education.
• Ability to adapt lessons for a wide range of learning needs and abilities.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Empathetic, patient and committed to helping every child reach their potential.
• Enjoys collaborative work as part of a dedicated support team.
