SEMH Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support in Secondary PRU

About the role

We are partnering with a Secondary PRU in Greenwich to find a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant. The role starts in September 2026 and runs full‑time until July 2027, providing 1:1 and small‑group support for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver tailored support to pupils both inside and outside the classroom.
• Work one‑to‑one and with small groups to encourage positive learning and behaviour.
• Build trusting relationships to promote emotional wellbeing.
• Collaborate closely with teachers and the pastoral team to create a supportive learning environment.
• Celebrate every achievement, no matter how small.

Required profile

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH and/or SEN, or a recent graduate eager to gain school‑based experience.
• Patient, resilient and able to stay calm under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills and a team‑oriented attitude.
• Passionate about helping children succeed academically and personally.
