SEMH Teaching Assistant – Support Young People in Milton Keynes

About the role
We are looking for a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to support young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs in a specialist school. The role starts in September 2026 and offers a full‑time, long‑term placement with the possibility of a permanent contract.
Key responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for pupils with SEMH needs.
- Help students regulate emotions, develop positive behaviours and engage confidently in learning.
- Build trusting relationships that promote confidence and resilience.
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, therapists and external professionals to implement individual learning plans.
- Assist with behaviour strategies and interventions to enable pupils to reach their full potential.
Required profile
- Passion for supporting vulnerable young people.
- Resilience, compassion and a commitment to inclusive education.
- Experience as a Teaching Assistant, Youth Worker, Residential Support Worker, or relevant voluntary work.
- Graduates in Psychology, Criminology, Education or related fields are welcome.
