About the role
This full‑time position is based in a supportive primary school in Peasedown, delivering mainstream teaching while providing dedicated support for pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The role offers an immediate start or a September commencement, allowing flexibility for the right candidate.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons within a mainstream classroom.
- Provide targeted interventions and support for pupils identified with SEMH needs.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment and manage behaviour using consistent, nurturing strategies.
- Collaborate closely with the SENCO, support staff, and external professionals to develop and implement individual support plans.
- Monitor pupil progress and contribute to assessment and reporting processes.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience working with SEMH, SEN, or challenging behaviour is highly desirable.
- Strong classroom management skills and a calm, patient approach.
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils who may struggle in traditional settings.
- Flexible, proactive mindset and willingness to work the full school week.
