SEN 1-1 Teaching Assistant – Full‑time (Term‑time)

About the role

A mainstream primary school in Blackpool, rated "Good" by Ofsted, is looking for a dedicated SEN 1‑1 Teaching Assistant to provide one‑to‑one support for a pupil with additional needs. The role is full‑time, term‑time only, and offers the chance to make a real difference in a supportive school environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1‑to‑1 assistance to a pupil with SEN throughout the school day.
• Implement individual support plans and behaviour strategies.
• Assist the class teacher in adapting learning activities and resources.
• Promote the pupil’s independence, confidence and positive social interaction.
• Monitor progress and relay feedback to the teaching staff and SENCO.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with children with SEN, either school‑based or transferable.
• Patient, resilient and nurturing approach.
• Ability to build strong, positive relationships with pupils.
• Effective team player who can collaborate with teachers and external professionals.
• Commitment to supporting children to achieve their full potential.

Required skills

• No specific technical skills required; focus is on interpersonal and supportive abilities.
