About the role
Polaris Community is seeking a dedicated SEN Class Teacher for its Andover School in Hampshire. You will join a supportive team that provides education for pupils aged 5‑18 with complex SEMH needs, delivering high‑quality lessons within the national curriculum.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet national curriculum standards while addressing complex SEMH requirements.
- Support the class team in creating positive learning environments and managing behaviour.
- Report on pupil progress, raise concerns, and collaborate with staff to meet individual needs.
- Supervise pupils during non‑classroom times, including extracurricular activities and school trips.
- Build strong, positive relationships with pupils to promote successful learning outcomes.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree‑level education.
- Previous successful teaching experience, preferably with SEMH pupils.
- Experience of behaviour management techniques.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check before starting.
