SEN EYFS Teacher (Temp-to-Perm)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated SEN EYFS Teacher to join a specialist early years school on a full‑time, temp‑to‑perm basis starting September 2026. You will work in a vibrant, inclusive environment supporting children with autism, developmental delays and sensory processing differences.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a small, structured EYFS classroom and deliver the early developmental curriculum through play‑based and sensory‑rich activities.
• Design and adapt lesson plans to meet individual education plans (IEPs) for pupils with complex needs.
• Collaborate closely with teaching assistants, parents and multidisciplinary therapy teams, including speech and language therapists.
• Implement positive behaviour support strategies and ensure a safe, nurturing learning atmosphere.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent UK‑recognised teaching qualification.
• Proven experience teaching in an SEN setting, preferably with early years pupils.
• Strong adaptability, creativity and a calm, patient approach to behaviour management.
• Excellent communication skills, including use of alternative communication methods such as PECS, Makaton or visual timetables.

Required skills

• Experience with alternative communication systems (PECS, Makaton, visual timetables).
