SEN Learning Support Assistant – 1:1 KS2 Support

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to provide one‑to‑one support for a Key Stage 2 pupil with additional needs in a welcoming primary school in Brighton. This full‑time, term‑time position offers the chance to make a tangible difference in a child’s educational journey while working closely with teachers and the SENCo.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver personalised 1:1 learning support to a KS2 pupil with SEN.
• Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCo to implement tailored learning strategies.
• Monitor and encourage the pupil’s academic progress, social development and emotional wellbeing.
• Adapt classroom activities and resources to meet the child’s individual requirements.
• Promote independence, confidence and positive behaviour.
• Maintain clear communication with school staff and parents, building a trusting relationship with the pupil.

Required profile

• Previous experience supporting children with SEN in a school or similar environment.
• Familiarity with needs such as ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties or SEMH is desirable.
• Patient, caring, resilient and committed to helping children reach their potential.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
