SEN Learning Support Assistant – Andover

About the role

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to work with pupils in Andover who have a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, learning difficulties and behavioural challenges. The role offers the chance to make a real difference by helping young people access learning and build confidence.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small‑group support to pupils with SEN during lessons, activities and transitions.
• Assist with emotional regulation and implement behaviour‑support strategies.
• Adapt learning tasks to meet individual needs and promote independence.
• Collaborate closely with teachers, SENCOs and other support staff.
• Maintain a calm, safe and inclusive learning environment.
• Follow safeguarding and school policies at all times.

Required profile

• Experience working with children, young people or vulnerable individuals.
• Patient, supportive and understanding approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive, trusting relationships.
• Adaptable and reliable team player.
