SEN Learning Support Assistant – Full-time role in Mid Sussex

About the role
We are looking for a dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a special school in Mid Sussex from September 2026. You will work alongside teachers, therapists and support staff to help pupils with a variety of special educational needs develop confidence, independence and academic progress.
Key responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs and moderate to severe learning difficulties.
- Encourage positive behaviour and active engagement with learning activities.
- Assist teachers in delivering inclusive lessons and adapting resources where required.
- Help maintain a safe, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
Required profile
- Minimum six months experience supporting children or young people with special educational needs.
- Caring, patient and resilient attitude.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
- Right to work in the United Kingdom.
