SEN Learning Support Assistant

About the role

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming school in Castle Point, Essex from September 2026. The role involves working closely with teachers and the SEN team to provide tailored support for pupils with special educational needs.

Key responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small‑group support to pupils with SEN.
• Supporting pupils to access the curriculum and participate fully in lessons.
• Helping pupils develop confidence, independence and social skills.
• Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement.
• Implementing individual learning and support strategies in collaboration with teachers and the SENCO.
• Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff.

Required profile

• Patient, caring, resilient and enthusiastic with a genuine passion for helping children.
• Previous experience working with children with SEN, preferably with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, SEMH or communication difficulties.
• Ability to work closely with teachers, the SEN team and support pupils’ emotional and social development.
