SEN Teacher (Ages 4-16) – Full‑Time

About the role

We are seeking an experienced SEN Teacher to join a specialist school in Knowsley, Liverpool. You will work with pupils aged 4‑16 who have a range of additional learning needs, delivering a broad, differentiated curriculum in a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons across core and foundation subjects.
• Teach both primary and secondary pupils with diverse SEN profiles.
• Develop, implement and review EHCP targets and personalised learning plans.
• Create a structured, inclusive classroom atmosphere.
• Assess, monitor and report on pupil progress and attainment.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants, SENCOs, therapists and external professionals.
• Support pupils' social, emotional and behavioural development through positive relationships and effective strategies.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS (essential).
• Proven experience teaching pupils with Special Educational Needs.
• Strong understanding of ASD, ADHD, SEMH and speech, language and communication difficulties.
• Ability to adapt a broad curriculum to individual learning needs.
• Excellent classroom management with a calm, patient approach.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
