About the role
Join Red Kite School, an independent specialist school for young people aged 11‑18 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. As a SEN Teacher you will create engaging, personalised lessons that remove barriers to learning and help each pupil build confidence for life beyond school.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver creative lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
- Develop, monitor and review personalised learning plans, including IEPs and behaviour support strategies.
- Build trusting relationships with pupils, teaching assistants, therapists, families and external professionals.
- Promote positive behaviour through consistency, understanding and high expectations.
- Safeguard pupil wellbeing and contribute to a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Passion for inclusive education and supporting pupils with additional needs.
- Resilient, calm and confident when working with diverse learning requirements.
- Excellent communicator who thrives in a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience in SEN, Autism, SEMH or specialist education is highly desirable, though mainstream teachers are encouraged to apply.
