SEN Teacher (KS1 Autism & SLD) – Islington – Temp‑Perm

About the role

We are seeking a qualified SEN Teacher to lead a settled KS1 class of pupils with Autism (ASD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) in Islington. The role starts in September 2026 and offers the chance to deliver creative, personalised learning within a supportive specialist setting.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver a sensory‑based curriculum tailored to individual learning needs.
• Collaborate closely with HLTAs and Teaching Assistants to maintain high staffing ratios.
• Monitor pupil progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
• Contribute to a positive, challenge‑free classroom environment.
• Work with the SENDCO and leadership team to uphold best practice in special education.

Required profile

• Qualified SEN Teacher (QTS or equivalent).
• Proven experience working with pupils who have Autism and/or SLD.
• Confidence delivering a sensory‑based curriculum.
• A nurturing, creative and child‑centred approach.
