SEN Teacher – Secondary School (Hackney) – Sep Start

About the role

We are looking for a passionate SEN Teacher to join our secondary special‑needs school in Hackney from September. You will plan and deliver differentiated lessons for students aged 11‑19 with a range of additional needs, working closely with teaching assistants, therapists and families.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging, personalised lessons for pupils with Autism, SEMH, ADHD, MLD and other needs.
• Develop and review individual learning plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
• Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting interventions as required.
• Promote positive behaviour and a supportive classroom environment.
• Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists and parents to ensure consistent support.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to staff meetings and professional development activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience teaching secondary students with Special Educational Needs.
• Knowledge of Autism (ASD), SEMH, ADHD, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) or similar.
• Commitment to inclusive education and student wellbeing.
• Patient, creative and able to build strong relationships with pupils and colleagues.
