SEN Teacher – Special Needs School (Barking, SE England)

About the role
We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher for a large, specialist school in Barking and Dagenham. The school supports learners aged 4‑19 with moderate to severe learning disabilities, autism, and related needs. This is a long‑term, full‑time position offering the chance to make a significant impact on young people with special educational needs.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver creative, curriculum‑aligned lessons for students with a range of SEND profiles.
- Plan and prepare lessons with generous preparation time.
- Manage classroom behaviour positively and consistently.
- Build strong relationships with pupils, colleagues, and support staff.
- Collaborate with a highly trained support team to tailor interventions.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) in the UK.
- Minimum two years experience teaching SEND pupils.
- Ability to follow the National Curriculum and adapt it for diverse needs.
- Positive approach to behaviour management.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for teamwork and pupil engagement.
