SEN Teachers & Learning Support Assistants

About the role

Teaching Personnel is recruiting qualified SEN teachers and Learning Support Assistants for schools in Totton and surrounding Hampshire/New Forest area. The positions are available immediately across permanent, temporary and supply placements, offering the chance to support children with additional needs.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver SEND‑focused lessons tailored to individual pupil needs (Teachers).
• Assess, track and report on pupil progress.
• Collaborate with LSAs, SENCOs and the wider school team to create an inclusive learning environment.
• Provide 1:1 or small‑group support to pupils (LSAs).
• Assist teachers with lesson delivery, classroom management and support for pupils with SEND, SEMH or additional learning needs.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent for teaching roles.
• Experience as a Learning Support Assistant or Teaching Assistant for support roles.
• Enhanced child‑only DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
• Passion for working in SEND settings and supporting pupils with additional needs.

• Competitive hourly rate of £14.75+ for LSAs and annual salary £32,916‑£51,048 for teachers (inclusive of statutory holiday pay).
