SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 ASD Support)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 and small‑group support for pupils with Autism, ADHD and other additional needs in a specialist school setting. This part‑time position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact while building a solid foundation for a long‑term career in special education.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 and small‑group assistance to students with Autism, ADHD and complex learning, sensory, and communication needs.
• Support personal care respectfully when required.
• Utilise visual aids, sensory strategies and tailored interventions to promote engagement and independence.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists and support staff to maintain a structured, safe and nurturing learning environment.
• Encourage social development and independence through targeted activities.

Required profile

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEN.
• A calm, resilient and nurturing approach.
• Strong interest in education and a desire for career progression within specialist provision.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
