About the role
We are looking for a caring and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide one‑to‑one support for a Year 2 pupil with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs at a well‑regarded infant school in New Milton. The role starts in September 2026 and offers a structured part‑time schedule across the week.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver consistent 1:1 support throughout the school day, adapting activities to the pupil’s needs.
- Encourage engagement with learning tasks and facilitate access to the curriculum.
- Support emotional regulation and implement positive behaviour strategies.
- Collaborate closely with the class teacher and SENCO to plan and review interventions.
- Help create a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment.
Required profile
- Experience supporting children with SEN and/or SEMH needs.
- Patient, resilient and nurturing attitude.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Genuine passion for helping children succeed.
