About the role
We are looking for a caring and patient SEN Teaching Assistant to provide one‑to‑one support for a Year 2 pupil with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO, you will help the child access learning, build confidence and develop positive relationships within the classroom.
Key responsibilities
- Provide consistent 1:1 support throughout the school day.
- Encourage engagement with learning activities and help the pupil complete tasks.
- Support emotional regulation and implement positive behaviour strategies.
- Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to tailor interventions.
- Create a nurturing, inclusive learning environment.
Required profile
- Experience supporting children with SEN and/or SEMH needs.
- Patient, resilient and nurturing approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Genuine passion for helping children succeed.
