SEN Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support for KS2 pupil (Enfield)

About the role

This full‑time, long‑term position offers a dedicated 1:1 teaching assistant role supporting a Key Stage 2 pupil with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in a primary school in Enfield. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to help the pupil engage with lessons, build confidence and meet individual learning goals.

Key responsibilities

• Provide daily 1:1 support to the KS2 pupil, adapting activities to suit their needs.
• Implement tailored strategies to promote academic progress, independence and positive social interaction.
• Collaborate with the class teacher, SENCO and other staff to monitor progress and adjust support plans.
• Maintain accurate records of the pupil’s development and share insights with the teaching team.

Required profile

• Previous experience supporting pupils with SEN, particularly ASD, SEMH or other complex needs.
• Patient, proactive and enthusiastic attitude towards inclusive education.
• Ability to travel to Enfield and work on‑site in a primary school setting.

Required skills

• Knowledge of evidence‑based strategies for supporting children with ASD.
• Strong communication skills for working with teachers, parents and support staff.
