SEN Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support for Primary Pupils

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide one‑to‑one support for a pupil with Special Educational Needs in a welcoming primary school in Redbridge. The role starts in September 2026 and offers a full‑time temporary placement.

Key responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with SEN throughout the school day.
• Build a trusting, consistent relationship and act as a calm, patient role model.
• Implement personalised learning strategies in line with the pupil’s EHCP targets.
• Support the development of social, emotional, communication and independence skills.
• Collaborate with the class teacher, SENCO, parents and external professionals.
• Assist the pupil across EYFS, KS1 or KS2 curricula as required.

Required profile

• Minimum of 1 year experience supporting children in a school setting.
• Experience with pupils who have Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH or related behavioural needs.
• Strong behaviour management and relationship‑building abilities.
• Calm, resilient, proactive attitude with excellent communication skills.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

• Competitive daily rate of £95‑£110.
• Full‑time temporary contract starting September 2026.
