SEN Teaching Assistant (ARP) – Full‑time, September start

About the role

We are partnering with a welcoming primary school in Barnet to recruit a full‑time SEN Teaching Assistant for an Alternative Resource Provision (ARP) setting. Starting in September, you will support a pupil with autism, helping them engage with the curriculum, develop social skills and regulate emotions within a mainstream environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide consistent, structured assistance to the pupil throughout the school day.
• Support learning engagement, social interaction and emotional regulation.
• Assist with behaviour, communication and emotional needs as required.
• Work collaboratively with the classroom teacher and specialist staff.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with children with autism (essential).
• Patient, nurturing and resilient attitude.
• Team‑player with a positive, proactive approach.
• Confidence in supporting behaviour, communication and emotional regulation.
• Adaptable and able to thrive in a structured, supportive provision.
