About the role

We are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant with a specialism in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to provide one‑to‑one support for a KS2 pupil at a welcoming school near Hoo, Rochester, Kent. This full‑time contractor position starts in September 2026 and offers the chance to make a real difference in a child's early education.

Key responsibilities

Deliver 1:1 support to a KS2 pupil with ASD, focusing on learning, communication and emotional regulation.
Implement strategies aligned with the pupil’s EHCP targets.
Collaborate closely with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure a cohesive approach.
Create a safe, nurturing and structured learning environment.

Required profile

Experience supporting children with ASD, preferably in a school setting.
Good understanding of the KS2 curriculum and SEN strategies.
Patient, reliable and adaptable attitude.
Own transport is essential due to limited public transport.

Required skills

Experience with visual supports, routines or behaviour strategies (desirable).
SEN or Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable).
