About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 6‑25 with complex learning difficulties, including autism, speech and language disorders and challenging behaviour, at a Good‑rated special school in Ringwood.
Key responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one and group support for students with autism and other complex needs.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored lessons and classroom activities.
- Undertake personal care tasks when required, ensuring the dignity and safety of pupils.
- Help manage challenging behaviour using agreed strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and daily observations.
Required profile
- Previous experience as a teaching assistant is preferred, though a strong passion for supporting children with ASD and complex needs is essential.
- Positive, proactive and energetic attitude with confidence to engage in classroom settings.
- Willingness to undertake personal care responsibilities.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain) and two professional child‑related references.
