SEN Teaching Assistant – Crawley

About the role

An incredible school for children aged 6-18 with social, emotional and mental health challenges is seeking a caring and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant. The role is term‑time only, offering plenty of holidays and the chance to develop a career in care, psychology or teaching.

Key responsibilities

• Work alongside teachers, therapists and other support staff.
• Ensure equipment and facilities are safe for children to use.
• Prepare activities and tidy up afterwards.
• Develop an understanding with each child to maintain an optimal learning environment.
• Report any safeguarding concerns promptly and accurately.

Required profile

• A genuine desire to work with children with special education needs.
• A caring, compassionate and resilient nature.
• A proactive, ‘can‑do’ attitude.
• Eligibility for a DBS check (support provided).
• Not barred from working with children.
• GCSE Maths and English grades A*–C (or equivalent).
