SEN Teaching Assistant – Enfield Primary & Secondary School

About the role

We are seeking a caring and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a well‑resourced primary and secondary SEN school in Enfield. The role starts in September and offers the chance to make a real difference to pupils with a range of additional needs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small‑group support across both primary and secondary classes.
• Support communication, emotional regulation and engagement in learning.
• Follow EHCP targets and individual support plans.
• Assist with personal care where required.
• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals.
• Help maintain a calm, structured and positive learning environment.
• Encourage independence, confidence and social development.

Required profile

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, ASD, ADHD or complex needs.
• Calm, patient and resilient approach.
• Comfortable working across primary and secondary age groups.
• Willingness to support non‑verbal or limited‑communication pupils.
• Willing to provide personal care when needed.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
