SEN Teaching Assistant – Full-time, Term-time, Wigan

About the role

Are you a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in a supportive, nurturing school environment? Teaching Personnel is partnering with a well‑resourced specialist education setting in Wigan to provide dedicated support for pupils with a range of additional needs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small‑group support tailored to individual EHCP targets.
• Assist in delivering creative, engaging lessons alongside the class teacher.
• Support pupils with daily routines, personal care (where required) and emotional regulation.
• Use positive behaviour strategies to promote engagement and well‑being.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff.
• Monitor and record progress, behaviour and achievements.

Required profile

• Experience working with children or young people with SEN in education, care, or support settings.
• A patient, empathetic and resilient approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• A genuine passion for supporting inclusive education.
• Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) desirable but not essential.
