About the role
We are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Kingston Upon Thames. You will work within the Specialist Resource Provision (SRP) supporting pupils aged 4–11 who have a range of special educational needs. The role is full‑time, Monday to Friday, and offers the chance to make a tangible difference to vulnerable children’s learning and wellbeing.
Key responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group support to pupils with ASD, ADD, SEMH and other SEN profiles.
- Assist in delivering personalised learning plans and adapt activities to meet individual needs.
- Build trusting relationships with pupils, helping them overcome barriers to learning.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists and school staff to monitor progress and adjust support strategies.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to the development of tailored educational resources.
Required profile
- Proven experience supporting children with SEN, particularly ASD, ADD or SEMH.
- Calm, patient and resilient approach with strong interpersonal skills.
- Relevant qualifications such as a psychology degree or equivalent experience.
- Valid child workforce DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
- Local residence or ability to commute easily to Kingston Upon Thames.

- Negotiable daily rate of £95‑£102 inclusive of statutory holiday pay.
