SEN Teaching Assistant – Full‑time, North London

About the role

We are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted Outstanding primary school in Islington. The role is full‑time, Monday to Friday, supporting pupils with additional learning needs within a small, well‑resourced SEN unit attached to the mainstream setting.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small‑group support to pupils with SEN/ALN.
• Collaborate closely with class teachers and other SEN TAs to plan and deliver tailored learning activities.
• Assist pupils in accessing the curriculum, building confidence and independence.
• Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and support interventions.
• Contribute to a positive, inclusive classroom environment.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant (essential).
• Genuine passion for supporting children with additional learning needs.
• Calm, patient and nurturing approach.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a supportive team.

Required skills

• Experience implementing individualized support plans.
• Ability to adapt teaching resources for diverse learning needs.
