SEN Teaching Assistant – Full‑time (Term‑time) in Chorley

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a school in Chorley on a full‑time, term‑time basis. You will work Monday to Friday, supporting pupils with special educational needs and helping them engage fully with the curriculum.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group assistance to SEN pupils during morning lessons.
• Support the class teacher in creating an inclusive learning environment.
• Implement and follow individual education plans (IEPs) and monitor progress.
• Help manage behaviour and promote positive social and emotional development.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, preferably in an SEN setting.
• Patience, empathy and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
• Relevant qualification in supporting teaching and learning (desirable).
• Strong communication skills and a team‑player attitude.
• Willingness to obtain an Enhanced DBS check.

Required skills

• Experience supporting SEN pupils in a classroom setting.
• Knowledge of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
• Behaviour management techniques.
