SEN Teaching Assistant – Haringey (Long‑Term)

About the role
A mainstream secondary school in the London Borough of Haringey is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join its support team from September on a long‑term basis. You will work with KS3 and KS4 students who have a variety of special educational needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
Key responsibilities
- Provide in‑class and small‑group support to KS3 and KS4 students with a range of SEND needs (Autism, ADHD, speech & language, moderate learning difficulties, SEMH, etc.).
- Deliver targeted interventions and promote student engagement and independence.
- Collaborate with teachers and the SENCO to plan and implement personalised support.
- Monitor progress and record observations to inform future planning.
Required profile
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs, preferably in a school setting.
- Patient, proactive, adaptable and committed to inclusive education.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Required skills
- Knowledge of SEND categories such as Autism, ADHD, speech & language, moderate learning difficulties and SEMH.
- Experience delivering one‑to‑one and small‑group interventions.
- Strong communication skills with students, staff and parents.
