SEN Teaching Assistant – Immediate Start (Full‑Time)

About the role

We are looking for a caring and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to work one‑to‑one with a Year 9 female student in a supportive Twickenham SEN school. The role focuses on helping a young person with autism and speech, language and communication needs stay engaged, confident and safe throughout the school day.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one academic and personal support to the student during all lessons.
• Assist with speech and language activities and communication strategies.
• Offer personal care when required, maintaining dignity and professionalism.
• Monitor the student’s progress and report observations to the class teacher.
• Promote independence and positive behaviour throughout the day.

Required profile

• Empathetic, patient and resilient with a genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs.
• Experience working with children with autism, speech or communication difficulties is essential.
• Ability to build a trusting, supportive relationship on a daily basis.
• Professional attitude and willingness to undertake occasional personal‑care tasks.
