About the role
We are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join an SEN school in Kingston Upon Thames. You will work within an inclusive environment where children are supported to explore and develop through learning opportunities. The role involves providing 1:1 and small group support to students across year groups. An immediate start is available, with the possibility to begin as soon as next week.
Key responsibilities
- Work across multiple year groups, adapting support to the developmental stage of each student.
- Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group assistance, ensuring individualized attention for each learner.
- Support students with both physical and mental needs, including sensory activities and task assistance.
- Help integrate the student into the classroom environment by facilitating participation and managing behaviour.
Required profile
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and its impact on learning.
- Possess knowledge of Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges and appropriate strategies.
- Show competence in behaviour management techniques to support a positive learning environment.
