SEN Teaching Assistant

About the role
Seva Education is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with special educational needs and disabilities across key stages 2, 3, 4 and further education. You will work closely with class teachers to enhance learning, promote independence and help students achieve their full potential in a safe, inclusive environment.
Key responsibilities
- Assist class teachers in planning, preparing and resourcing lessons.
- Provide one‑to‑one or group support to enable pupils to access the curriculum.
- Promote pupils’ independence, self‑esteem and social inclusion.
- Maintain good order and discipline, applying the school’s behaviour management policies.
- Organise teaching space and resources, ensuring a stimulating learning environment.
- Observe and report pupil performance to the teacher.
- Supervise classes when the teacher is unavailable and, where appropriate, lead teaching under supervision.
- Use ICT tools to enhance pupil learning.
Required profile
- Commitment to safeguarding and willingness to undergo DBS and child protection checks.
- Enthusiasm for working with children with SEND.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and support staff.
Required skills
- Proficiency in using ICT for educational purposes.
