About the role
The school is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support a small group of 10‑12 pupils in a specialist setting. You will work closely with teachers, therapists and external professionals to help pupils develop confidence, independence and academic progress.
Key responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small‑group support to pupils with special educational needs.
- Implement Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) and monitor progress.
- Assist with academic, social and emotional development.
- Support personal care, welfare and physical needs where required.
- Promote inclusive practice and positive behaviour management.
- Prepare the classroom, maintain a safe learning environment and supervise activities.
- Record and report pupil progress to teaching staff.
Required profile
- Experience working with children or young people, preferably with SEN.
- Patient, resilient and caring attitude.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.
- Willingness to support personal care and additional needs.
