SEN Teaching Assistant

About the role

Reeson Education is seeking compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils with additional needs in primary schools across Havering. You will work directly with children, teachers and SENCOs to create an inclusive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one support for pupils with autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs.
• Facilitate small intervention groups and targeted activities.
• Assist the class teacher and SENCO in planning and delivering personalised support.
• Promote positive behaviour, confidence and independence.
• Help maintain a safe, inclusive and engaging classroom atmosphere.

Required profile

• Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant or supporting children with special educational needs.
• Caring, patient and resilient attitude.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Understanding of behaviour management and SEN strategies.
• Availability to start in September 2026.

Required skills

• No specific technical skills required.
